Anyes at Far Away in the Sunshine has been doing a series called “Let’s Get to Know Each Other” as part of her NaNoPoblano posts. I have been enjoying going through those posts, and have only answered a few, so decided to round up some of my favorite get to know you questions here. Thank you for the idea and questions, Anyes, and to everyone else, leave your own answers in the comments.
What’s the #1 most played song on your playlist?
I googled how to look up my Spotify stats to answer this question, and found Stats for Spotify. According to them, my top-played song of all time (that I’ve been on Spotify) is “God is a Woman” by Ariana Grande. The song I think I’ve played most this year, “Slide Away” by Miley Cyrus, is third on my all-time list. Taylor Swift is my top-played artist of all time.
What sound do you love?
I thought about mentioning my weird love of ASMR for this question, but I think I’ll save that post for another day. (If you don’t know what ASMR is, be prepared to enter a strange but wonderful world when you google it.) Instead, I’ll just say that I love the sound it makes when my cats chase each other around the house. Adorable.
If you could paint a picture of any scenery you’ve seen before, what would you paint?
I can’t really paint, but the scene that comes to mind first is Manuel Antonio beach in Costa Rica. I spent a lot of time on that beach when I was there for a month on a study abroad trip. It was ocean on one side and jungle on the other; just gorgeous. Or if I couldn’t paint that, I would paint any of the views from hiking trail overlooks near my house. I live in one of the prettiest parts of Tennessee, in my humble opinion.

If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would you meet?
I wish I could have met RBG. That would have been cool. I would also love to meet Malala Yousafzai just to know what she’s like in person. She’s such an amazing and accomplished person already, and seems serious and reserved. Is she like that with her own friends? I am curious.
What was the last movie, TV show or book that made you cry or tear up?
I don’t really cry that often, but I do feel books deeply sometimes. The last one I read that made me want to cry was Know My Name by Chanel Miller. That was a touch one to get through. I reviewed it awhile ago if you want more thoughts on that one.
The sound of cats chasing each other: “thumpa thumpa thumpa thumpa THUMPA sliiiide CRASH thumpa thumpa thumpa”
More or less.
Nailed it
YES RBG and Malala Yousafzai! Know My Name is on my to-read list.
Know My Name was an emotionally rough read. I don’t listen to ASMR things but I have friends who do and friends who make it and I’m fascinated, ha! :D
ASMR is so so weird but fascinating is a great word for it!
